Fantastic first read through for Flora the Red Menace.  All the cast was there except for one.  I’m very excited about this group and the show.

Alan Menken video

Just watched a fabulous YouTube video of the incomparable Alan Menken. It was an interview with him about his career. What a fabulous composer with a feel for multiple genres. It’s really worth a watch if you don’t know his work or if you are interested in composing. His music is so well known but he might not be to the general public. Enjoy…

Music Man

Starting work on Music Man for Theatre Under the Stars.  I’m music directing again and I’m super excited for this show.  I know it well, but I have never been involved in a production of it.  Looks like we have an amazing cast and I’m thrilled to get started.  Make sure to get your tickets now!

A Year with Frog and Toad

Just checking in and letting everyone know I’m going to be Music Directing a cute musical called “A Year with Frog and Toad”  In Chilliwack BC.  It’s with a lovely fine arts program out there called CSOPA (Chilliwack School of Performing Arts)  The artistic director is a friend of mine Andrew Smith, who is the husband of Sarah Rogers, who was the director of Anything Goes I did at TUTS this summer.  It’s going up in January and currently I’m in rehearsals with the kids on Monday Nights.  I’ll let you know how it’s going as I go.  Cute kids and lots of talent.  Come out and see it at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre.  A beautiful theatre, new and up to date.
